SCSU Women's Swimming & Diving Tops Staten Island, 117-77.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming & diving defeated College of Staten Island, 117-77, in Staten Island, N.Y.

200 Yard Medley Relay
Southern Connecticut "A" team of Reina Loiacano, Abby Lyons, Paola Castillo and Zoe McNeill finished second in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:58.27. The "B" team of Ella Marzec, Molly Kennedy, Kali Dominguez and Justice Glasgow finished third at 1:58.69.

1000 Yard Freestyle
The only two swimmers in the 1000 Free, Sara Rooney finished first at 12:03.11 followed by Jordan Herman at 12:29.04.

200 Yard Freestyle
Southern took the top four spots in the 200 Free led by Arianna Arturi in first at 2:01.18 followed by Sierra DuCharme in second at 2:06.89. Glasgow was third at 2:09.09 while Julia Pitchell was fourth at 2:09.46.

50 Yard Freestyle
Hailey Nyquist led the Owls in the 50 Free with a time of 26.53 for second place followed by Brooke Keeney in third at 27.12. Castillo was third at 27.33.

200 Yard Individual Medley
Once again the Owls were the lone swimmers in an event, which featured Aralyn Vogel in first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.22. Marzec was second at 2:20.83 followed by Loiacano at 2:24.53.

100 Yard Butterfly
Uricchio won the 100 Fly event with a time of 1:02.41 followed by Lyons in second place at 1:05.26. McnNeill was close behind in thirst at 1:05.80.

100 Yard Freestyle
Vogel won her second event of the afternoon with a time of 57.08 in the 100 Free. Allyson Quitos was second at 57.59 followed by DuCharme at 59.30.

100 Yard Backstroke
Nyquist won the 100 Back with a time of 1:01.51 followed by Pitchell in second place at 1:02.68 and Roney in third at 1:03.62.

500 Yard Freestyle
With the Owls clinching the meet after the 9^th event, Southern swam exhibition the rest of the way. In the 500 Free, Molly Kennedy posted a time of 5:23.61 while Lindsay McCawley finished at 5:33.15. Jordan Herman touched at 6:08.35.

100 Yard Breaststroke
Marzec finished the 100 Breaststroke at 1:12.50 followed by Arturi at 1;13.63 and Natalie Weier at 1:20.83.

200 Yard Freestyle Relay
Southern's "A" team of Arturi, Kennedy, Uricchio and Nyquist swam a 1:45.64 in the 200 Free Relay while the Owls' "C" team of Roney, Quitos, McNeill and Loiacano were second at 1:46.53.

The Owls will not enjoy the Winter Break and return to action on Saturday, Jan. 11 when they travel to Assumption for a meet set for a 1 p.m. start. After a meet at Bentley on Sunday, Jan. 19, the Owls return home for Senior Day when it hosts Saint Michael's on Saturday, Jan. 25 for its final regular-season competition of the season before coming at the NE10 Championships on Feb. 13-16.
