NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut gymnastics defeated Rhode Island College and Springfield College, to get their first win of the season at the James Moore Field House on Saturday afternoon. The Owls posted a season-best score of 192.875 and finished in first place as Springfield finished in second place with a score of 188.950 and Rhode Island came in third place with a score of 188.850.
Southern saw high scores in all of the events in the Senior Day and Alumni Day tri-meet. On the balance beam, junior
Alexa Melanson recorded the highest score of the day for the Owls, with a career-best score of 9.800 and finished in first place. In the floor exercise, both

Libby Allen posted the team-best score of 9.775, as they both came in fourth place. On the uneven bars, freshman
Gigi Mastellone recorded the highest score of the day with a 9.800, which matched her career-best and finished in first place. On the vault, junior
Lexi Bracher had the highest score of 9.750 and recorded a first place finish for the Owls. The highest scoring event for Southern was floor exercise, where they recorded a total score of 48.625.
FLOOR EXERCISE

Libby Allen recorded a team-best score of 9.775, as they both finished in fourth place. Sophomore
Ava Kelly finished in seventh place with a score of 9.750. Senior
Hanna Zebdi had a score of 9.725 and came in eighth place and freshman

VAULT
Lexi Bracher had the highest score on the vault, with a score of 9.750 and finished in first place. Junior
Brianna Dorr recorded a score of 9.700 and finished in second place.
Hanna Zebdi posted a score of 9.625 and came in fourth place.
Sophia Ruecker had a score of 9.600 and came in fifth place.
Ava Kelly recorded a score of 9.550 in a seventh place finish. The Owls had a total score of 48.225 on the vault.
UNEVEN/PARALLEL BARS
Gigi Mastellone recorded the highest score of the day with a 9.800 and finished in first place.
Sophia Ruecker posted a score of 9.700 and finished in second place. Senior
Audrey Arnold had a score of 9.575 and came in fourth place. Junior
Shreya Munshi had a score of 9.550 and came in fifth place. The Owls recorded a total score of 48.075 on the uneven bars.
BALANCE BEAM
Alexa Melanson finished in first place with the highest score of the day and a new career-high, with a 9.800. Senior
Emiley Kahl recorded a score of 9.750. which matched her career-best and came in third place. Freshman
Angelina Stanfa posted a career-best score of 9.650 and came in sixth place. Junior
Emelia Diaz finished in seventh place with a score of 9.625. The Owls had a total score of 47.950 on the beam.
The Owls return to action on Sunday, February 11 at Yale University's Tonry Invitational against Yale and Bridgeport at 1:00 p.m. in New Haven, Connecticut.
