SCSU Baseball Falls To Assumption

Southern Connecticut baseball dropped both ends of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader against Assumption, 3-0 and 4-2, at The Ballpark at SCSU in New Haven, Conn. With the two losses, Southern dropped to 21-19 overall and 8-10 in the NE10 while Assumption improved to 13-20 overall and 7-8 in conference play.

In the first game, Billy Sullivan was 3-for-4 with a double while Chad Fedeli and Izaiah Walker also added hits. On the mound, Keegan Daigle gave up one run on three hits over 3 2/3 before giving way to Jagger Duquette. Duqettle gave up two unearned runs while striking out nine over 5 1/3 in relief.

In the second game, Chad Fedeli logged 5 1/3 solid innings on the mound, giving up three runs – one of which was unearned -before Braeden Sparaco pitched the final 1 2/3, giving up one run on three hits and striking out four. At the plate, Zakary Droukas was 1-for-4 with two RBI and Josh Wettemann had a double and a run scored.

Southern is back in action this weekend with a three-game set at American International on Saturday, Apr. 27 and Sunday, Apr. 28 in Springfield, Mass. After a midweek tilt against Bridgeport at Dunkin' Park in Hartford, Conn. on Tuesday, Apr. 30, the Owls close out their regular-season schedule at home against Pace on May 3-4.
