NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut men's soccer tops Queens 3-1. The Owls are now 2-1-1 on the season.
It was a physical game in this non-conference matchup. Fifteen minutes into the game, Queens struck first when they dribbled down the sideline to then cross the ball to score.
In the 33rd minute, Zico Groenveld took it upon himself to score the equalizer.
After the half, Jose Clemente headed a ball from Samuel Nagy to give the Owls the lead.
With three minutes left in the game, Devin Juan kicked a long ball down to Jose Clemente who then got it to Jayson Dumont to add the third and final goal. This is Dumont's first goal of his career. Juan had 7 saves on the night.
Southern Connecticut opens up conference play on Saturday, Sept. 21 as they travel to Manchester, N.H. to face Southern New Hampshire University.
