SCSU Field Hockey Falls To Defending National Champs Kutztown

COLCHESTER, VT. – Southern Connecticut field hockey lost to the defending NCAA Division II National Champion and NFHCA Preseason No. 1 Kutztown, 7-0, at the Best Western Windjammer Fall Classic hosted by Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vt.

Rachel Miller made six saves on 10 shots-on-goal over the first three quarters before freshman Lyndsay Troisi made her college debut in the fourth. Troisi made four saves in goal for the Owls.

Southern's season-opening road trip continues next week when they travel to Sparkill, N.Y. to face St. Thomas Aquinas on Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. followed by a trek to Springfield, Mass. to face American International for a non-conference matchup on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m.
