Avery Winters Named NE10 Track Athlete of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut Women's Indoor Track and Field Junior Avery Winters was named the Northeast-10 Track Athlete of the Week for Week 3 of the 2024-25 season. She is the third-straight Owl to win the Award, following teammates Hannah Caiola and Patrice Mansfield.

Competing at the UMass Amherst Flagship Invitational, Avery Winters won the 400 Meters with at time of 57:01. That time is a personal best for the Wallingford, Conn. native, and ranks first in the NE10 this season. Winters was one of three Owls to win an event at the meet, with Kisha Francois coming in first in the Long Jump and Hannah Caiola winning the 500 Meters.

Winters and the Owls race again on Saturday, February 1st at Boston University for the John Thomas Terrier Classic.
