SCSU Gymnastics Posts 190.325 To Open Season At Home Quad Meet

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University women's gymnastics finished third in the Owls' season-opening quad meet featuring Bridgeport, Brown and Springfield. Bridgeport won the event with 193.225 followed by Brown with 193.125 points and the Owls in third at 190.325. Springfield was fourth with a score of 185.225.
 
Libby Allen was the Owls leading scorer in the event after she totaled 28.425 points competing in the vault (9.75), balance beam (9.625) and floor (9.050). First-year Owl Jordan Villani also competed in three events and accumulated 27.750 points including a meet-high 9.825 in the floor exercise. She also had a 9.675 on the vault.
 

 
VAULT RESULTS
Allen was the Owls' highest finisher on the vault with a 9.750 which tied for fifth. Lexi Bracher posted a 9.725 for seventh place followed by Ava Kelly and Brianna Dorr tied for eighth with a 9.700, each.
 
UNEVEN BARS RESULTS
Ciana Rios led the Owls on the bars with a score of 9.675 for fourth place. Gabriela Dinisoe was tied for ninth with a 9.600.
 
BALANCE BEAM RESULTS
Dinisoe led Southern on the balance beam with a 9.775 which was tied for fifth. Angel Lee and Angelina Stanfa tied for eighth at 9.750 while Grace Christensen was 12 at 9.700. Libby Allen also had a 9.625.
 
FLOOR EXERCISE RESULTS
Jordan Villani tied for first in the floor exercise in her first collegiate competition with a 9.825. Ava Kelley tied for fourth with a 9.725 and Sidney Wilson was tied for seventh with a 9.675. Hanna Zebdi also finished with a 9.650.
 
Southern is back in action on Sunday, Jan. 26 when it travels to Providence, R.I. to face Brown.
