WALTHAM, Mass. - The Southern Connecticut women's swimming and diving team beat Bentley, 154 to 137. The meet is highlighted by Molly Kennedy who now holds the pool and meet record in the 50 Yard Freestyle and the meet record in the 200 Yard Freestyle. She also had a pair of first place finishes. It is also highlighted by Arianna Arturi who now holds the meet record in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
400 Yard Medley Relay
The Owls won the first event of the meet with their 400 Medley Relay "A" team of Arianna Arturi, Ally Quitos, Justice Glasgow, and Molly Kennedy finishing with a time of 1:51.12.
1000 Yard Freestyle
Three Owls finished within the top four in the 1000 Free – Jasmine Uricchio, Sierra DuCharme, and Natalie Weier. Uricchio came in second with a time of 11:03.29, DuCharme in third with a time of 11:13.26, and Weier finished fourth at 11:22.67.
200 Yard Freestyle
Molly Kennedy won the 200 Free with a time of 1:56.08 - this is now the meet record. Brooke Keeney came in second with a time of 2:02.22.
100 Yard Backstroke
In the 100 Back, Julia Pitchell finished second with a time of 1:01.12. Ella Marzec finished third with a time of 1:01.77 and Hailey Nyquist finished fourth with a time of 1:04.05. Reina Loiacano finished fifth with a time of 1:04.87 but was swimming in exhibition and earned no points.
100 Yard Breaststroke
Ally Quitos came in second in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:10.41. Emma St. Hilaire finished third with a time of 1:11.56 and Abby Lyons came in fourth with a time of 1:11.64.
200 Yard Butterfly
Paola Castillo won the 200 Fly with a time of 2:13.40. Lindsay McCawley came in fourth with a time of 2:16.62 and Uricchio finished fifth with a time of 2:16.98.
50 Yard Freestyle
Kennedy won the 50 Free with a time of 24.51 - she now holds the meet and pool record in this event. Arianna Arturi finished second with a time of 25.39 and Justice Glasgow came in fourth with a time of 26.27. Kali Dominguez finished fifth with a time of 26.60 but earned no points for swimming in exhibition.
100 Yard Freestyle
After coming in second in the 50 Free, Arturi came back to win the 100 Free with a time of 54.74 - this is now the meet record. Marzec came in second with a time of 54.87 and Aralyn Vogel came in fourth with a time of 57.27.
200 Yard Backstroke
Zoe McNeill came in second in the 200 Back with a time of 2:16.76. Keeney came in third with a time of 2:18.93 and Loiacano finsihed fifth with a time of 2:21.19.
200 Yard Breaststroke
McCawley came in second in the 200 Breast finishing with a time of 2:31.80. St. Hilaire and Quitos came in third and fourth with the times of 2:32.26 and 2:36.18, respectively.
500 Yard Freestyle
Castillo won the 500 Free with a time of 5:29.20. Abbey Piech came in third finishing with a time of 5:38.31 and Vogel came in fourth with a time of 5:41.21.
100 Yard Butterfly
In the 100 Fly, Glasgow won the event with a time of 59.07. Pitchell came in fourth with a time of 1:01.49 and Dominiguez came in fifth at 1:02.49.
200 Individual Medley
St. Hilaire came in third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:17.90. Lyons came in fourth with a time of 2:20.28 and Piech came in fifth with a time of 2:20.69.
400 Freestyle Relay
The Owls 400 Free Relay "A" team consisting of Marzec, Vogel, Kennedy, and Arturi won the event with a time of 3:40.72 which is now the meet record. Southern Connecticut's "B" team of Glasgow, Loiacano, Uricchio, and Keeney came in third with a time of 3:53.44.
The Owls are back for Senior Day on Saturday, Jan. 25 where they'll compete against Saint Michael's and celebrate seniors Arianna Arturi, Justice Glasgow, Jordan Herman, Brooke Keeney, Ella Marzec, Lindsay McCawley, Hailey Nyquist, Abbey Piech, and Natalie Weier.
