PROVIDENCE, RI – The Southern Connecticut women's gymnastics team placed second in Brown's Tri-Meet with Springfield. Brown won the meet with a 192.550, followed by the Owls with a 189.275, and Springfield came in third with a 183.375.
Erica Beyer had the highest individual score for Southern Connecticut with a 9.775 and tied for the second highest score of the meet which came on the floor. The Owls dominated the vault having the highest total vault score of the meet with a 48.350 and took the top four individual spots. Brianna Dorr won the event, Libby Allen and Lexi Bracher tied for second, and Ava Kelly placed fourth. Southern Connecticut also had at least one finisher in the top five in the other three events.
UNEVEN BARS RESULTS
Gabriela Dinisoe led the Owls on the bars with a 9.475 which was good for a fifth-place finish. Shreya Munshi scored a 9.200 for seventh place. In exhibition, Hannah Fitzgerald scored a 9.150.
BALANCE BEAM RESULTS
Angel Lee led the team with a 9.675 to tie for third place on the beam. Zoe Axell finished in seventh place with a 9.600. Dinisoe scored a 9.525 for eighth place and Libby Allen finished ninth with a mark of 9.475. In exhibition, Emiley Kahl scored a 9.625.
FLOOR EXERCISE RESULTS
Erica Beyer came in second on the floor with a score of 9.775. Ava Kelly tied for fifth with a 9.725. Abby Royer scored a 9.700 to tie for seventh and Allen tied for 10th with a 9.650. In exhibition, Sidney Wilson scored a 9.675.
VAULT RESULTS
Brianna Dorr won the event with a 9.725. Allen and Lexi Bracher tied for second scoring a 9.700 and Kelly came in fourth with a 9.675. Wilson tied for seventh with a mark of 9.550 and Hanna Zebdi tied for 10th with a 9.500.
Next Sunday, Feb. 2, Southern Connecticut will take a short trip down the road to Yale for the Tonry Invitational with Bridgeport.
