Makenzi Pastreck Named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Southern Connecticut women's soccer freshman Makenzi Pastreck was named the Northeast 10 Conference's Goalkeeper of the Week for Week 5 of the 2025 season. Pastreck joins teammate Abby Aughe as Owls to win the award this season. 

Makenzi Pastreck, a freshman from Wilbraham, Mass., saw her first collegiate action this week and impressed, shutting out both opponents the Owls faced this week. She tallied her first collegiate save in a 0-0 draw against Queens, then saved five shots in Southern's 1-0 win over Chestnut Hill. Her and Abby Aughe have been a huge part of Southern's defense that has held opponents to one or fewer goals in all but two games this season. 

Pastreck and the Owls return to the field this Wednesday, October 8th when they travel to Springfield, Mass. to take on American International.
