SCSU Women's Soccer Falls To Assumption, 1-0

Southern Connecticut women's soccer lost to Assumption, 1-0, in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at Jess Dow Field. With the loss, the Owls dropped to 1-3-2 overall and 0-2-1 in NE10 play while Assumption remained undefeated at 4-0-2 overall and 1-0-0 in the NE10.

Despite allowing the only goal of the game, Abby Aughe was sensational in goal. The reigning NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week turned back 10 of the Greyhounds' 11 shots on goal. Aughe stopped three in the second half and seven down the stretch. For the season, Aughe has been outstanding and carries a .909 save percentage after stopping 33 of her opponents 38 shots on goal while carrying a 0.83 goals-against average in goal. She's allowed just two goals in her last 180 minutes while stopping 19-of-21.

Southern will look to get back on track when it hosts Saint Michale's on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m.a t Jess Dow Field. Prior to the start of the game, SCSU Women's Soccer will honor Nicky Deslauriers, Aimee Girard, Shelby Green, Olivia Jones, Mackenzie McCormack and Shianna Reeves for Senior Day.
