BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The Southern Connecticut gymnastics team fell to LIU and Bridgeport in a tri-meet hosted by LIU. Bridgeport won the meet scoring 192.550 points, LIU finished second with 192.150, and Southern Connecticut followed with a score of 189.925.
Erica Beyer had the Owls highest score of the meet which came from the bars.
Brianna Dorr,
Gabriela Dinisoe, and
Angel Lee had the highest scores on their respective events.
VAULT
Dorr was the highest scorer on the vault for the Owls with a score of 9.725 which matches her season best from the Brown Tri-Meet on Jan. 26. This was also good for a fourth place tie.
Libby Allen scored a 9.700 to tie for sixth place.
Ava Kelly scored a 9.600.
UNEVEN BARS
Dinisoe came in seventh scoring a 9.600 on the bars which matches her season best from the first meet of the season on Jan. 18.
Shreya Munshi scored a 9.400.
BALANCE BEAM
Lee finished with a 9.725 to tie for fifth for her season best.
Angelina Stanfa scored a 9.675 while
Alexa Melanson scored a 9.625.
FLOOR EXERCISE
Beyer scored a 9.750 on the floor for the Owls highest score of the day and a fourth place finish.
Hanna Zebdi scored a 9.725 along with three other gymnasts for fifth place. Allen scored a 9.675 and
Abby Royer scored a 9.650. The Owls totaled a 48.450 on the floor which was more than Bridgeport's 47.800.
The Owls are back on Sunday, February, 23 for a tri-meet at Springfield with Rhode Island College.
