SCSU Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Places 4th at New England Championships

AMHERST, Mass. - Southern Connecticut Men's Outdoor Track & Field placed fourth at the 2025 NEICAAA New England Championships in a field of over 30 Division I, II, and III teams. Their score of 75 was behind New Hampshire at 87, Rhode Island at 109.25, and UMass Amherst at 119.50.

FIELD
Lawrence Hicks won the High Jump, clearing 2.09m, a centimeter short of his personal best.

Natanael Barbosa Torres took home silver in the Shot Put with a season-best throw of 17.55m (57-07.00). Cameron Belton placed third, throwing 17.38m (57-00.25). Leo Jolly finished in 14th with a mark of 14.74m (48-04.50).

Belton also placed 17th in the Discus Throw, throwing 44.51m (146-00).

Nevan Burke finished fourth in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 59.03m (193-08).

Holden Speed finished fifth in the Long Jump, jumping 7.05m (23-01.75). Lawrence Hicks jumped 6.39m (20-11.75), good for 22nd place.

TRACK
Osaretin Osagie won the 110m Hurdles with a personal best time of 13.88. Joe Nham finished in 10th with a time of 15.03.

Osagie also finished second in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 53.27. Mekkhi Adkins came in 24th at 58.89.

Marquis Ward placed 16th in the 100m Dash with a time of 10.73. Noah Conrod also broke eleven seconds, finishing in 20th with a time of 10.79.

Nolan Freeman took home second in the 200m Dash, running a time of 21.49.

Max Musial finished 11th in the 400m with a time of 49.33. Quinn Favorite was close behind in 17th with a time of 49.80.

Nate Huebner led the Owls with a 12th place finish in the 1500m, crossing the line at 4:00.74. Frankie Porrini finished in 23rd at 4:09.39, and Joseph Lamburn was right behind in 24th at 4:09.48.

John Glidden placed eighth in the 5000m with a time of 14:55.42. Luca Cazzaniga finished at 15:26.18, good for 21st.

Dom Tartarelli PRd in the 10000m with a time of 33:27.55, landing him in 10th place.

The Owls' 4x100m relay team of Max Musial, Noah Conrod, Marquis Ward, and Nolan Freeman finished fifth with a time of 41.54.

The 4x400m relay team of Musial, Freeman, Ward, and Osaretin Osagie won the event with a time of 3:14.91.

The 4x800m team of Frankie Porrini, Nate Huebner, Mekkhi Adkins, and Evan McNeice placed eight with a time of 8:04.26.
