NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut football junior
Daniel Benzi was named NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week for Week Four, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025. This is the first NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week honor for Benzi, and his second Weekly Award recognition since earning Rookie of the Week honors as a freshman.
Benzi led the NE10 in field goal percentage for the week after converting his only attempt to give Southern a 10-3 lead in a win against AIC. Benzi was also 1-for-1 on point after attempts. In a low-scoring game, he contributed four points to help head coach

Southern is back in action when it travels to Salisbury, N.C. on Saturday, Sept. 27 to take on Catawba in the first meeting between the two teams all-time. The Owls return home for Homecoming and Parents Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 2 to face Bentley at 2 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
