NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut women's basketball standout
Rheyna Steinauer was named to the Northeast 10 Conference Faces in the Crowd for Week 17, as announced by the NE10 on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026. This is the second Faces in the Crowd recognition for Steinauer, after she was named to Faces in the Crowd on Nov. 19, 2025.
Rheyna Steinauer matched her career-best of 30 points in the 72-50 victory over Southern New Hampshire. Steinauer recorded a career-best of 12 made field goals, was 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. Steinauer scored 10 straight points on her own, to end the first half against the Penmen. In addition, she grabbed seven boards, had two steals and two assists in the victory. Steinauer is the only NE10 women's basketball player this season to have multiple 30-point games.
On Saturday, January 17, the Owls will travel to Springfield, Mass. to take on American International at 1:30 pm in an NE10 matchup.
