NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut women's basketball standout Tish Blackwood was named Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for Week Ten, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. This is the second straight week that Blackwood has been named NE10 Rookie of the Week and it is the third time overall that she has earned NE10 Rookie of the Week honors in her first year with the Owls.


Tish Blackwood had an impressive week for the Owls as she recorded three double-doubles and extended her double-double streak to six in a row. Blackwood currently leads the NE10 with seven double doubles overall. Against Saint Anselm, Blackwood had a team-best of 11 rebounds and 10 points in the 63-55 victory. Against Adelphi, Blackwood recorded 19 points, had a team-best of 14 rebounds and two blocks in the 65-51 victory. Against Saint Michael's, she had a team-best of 12 rebounds, 11 points, three assists, two blocks and two steals in the 59-50 victory. Blackwood is second in the NE10 in rebounding with an average of 8.7 boards per game, helping Southern Connecticut win seven games in a row.
