NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut women's basketball standout
Tish Blackwood was named Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for Week 12, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026. This is the fourth straight week that Blackwood has been named NE10 Rookie of the Week. This season, Blackwood is the only basketball player to have earned NE10 Rookie of the Week honors, for four consecutive weeks. Additionally, she has been named NE10 Rookie of the Week, five times overall, and leads the conference for the most Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week honors earned by an individual student-athlete this season.
Tish Blackwood recorded a career-best of 26 points, as she was 11-for-20 from the floor, 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, grabbed a team-best of seven boards, and dished a career and team-best of six assists in the 69-56 victory over Pace. In the 55-47 victory over Southern New Hampshire, Blackwood added eight rebounds, four points and three steals against the Penmen.
Southern Connecticut women's basketball will travel to Assumption University on Tuesday, February 10 for an NE10 matchup at 5:30 pm in Worcester, Mass. The Owls will return home to the James Moore Field House for an NE10 matchup on Saturday, February 14 at 1:30 pm against American International.

Pride Day on Saturday, Feb. 14, a celebration of LGBTQ+ pride, inclusion, and community at the James Moore Field House! This special event will take place during SCSU's basketball doubleheader against
American International College and will feature a vibrant halftime performance by
Bleach the Drag Queen.
The afternoon tips off with the
Women's Basketball game at 1:30 PM, followed by the
Men's Basketball game at 3:30 PM. Fans attending either (or both!) games can enjoy the excitement of competition alongside a dynamic drag performance that brings energy, joy, and visibility to the celebration.
