In relief, Kate Nickerson tossed 1 inning allowing three runs on two hits. Offensively, Austin led the way for the Owls going 2-3, with a home run and three RBI. Austin now holds a six game hitting streak and has multiple hits in five of those six games. Along with Austin, Olivia Young also went 2-3 with an RBI.

The Owls started off hot scoring three runs in the first inning. After Gianna Iaquinto reached base on an error and Pearson walked, Owls catcher Austin stepped to the plate. Austin then sent a deep fly ball over the left field fence for a home run, driving in both Iaquinto and Pearson giving the Owls a 3-0 lead. The home run was Austin's first of the season and third of her career.

In the top of the second, the Owls offense would score another three runs as Olivia Young started the inning with a lead off double. After Samantha LaFemina reached base on a single, Izzy Ingersoll would drive in both on a single to left field giving the Owls a 5-0 lead. Ingersoll would later sore on an error by the right fielder giving the Owls a 6-0 lead.

After two runs by the Hawks in the bottom of the inning, the Owls would respond again in the top of the third, when the Owls hit back-to-back doubles. The first by Cheyenne LaTouche and the second by Young, driving in LaTouche expanding the Owls lead to 7-2.

After a quiet fourth inning, the Owls would add another run in the top of the fifth. The Owls had back-to-back singles to start the fifth as Austin singled through the left side and Angiolini singled to the right side allowing Austin to advance to third. From there, Austin scored on a groundout by LaTouche to give the Owls an 8-2 lead.

Although the Owls scoring ended in the top of the fifth, the Hawks began to fight back as they scored one run in the bottom of the inning cutting the lead to 8-3.

The comeback would continue in the seventh, as the Hawks got their fourth run on a double to center field, fifth on a single through the left side and sixth on a groundout. However, with a now two run lead and the tying runs in scoring position, Owls pitcher Kate Nickerson got the ground ball she needed which was turned into a double play to give the Owls the 8-6 win.
