Bozukluian, Henchcliffe Tabbed with NE10 Weekly Awards

Southern Connecticut women's track & field standouts Celine Bozukluian and Courtney Henchcliffe both received Northeast 10 Weekly Awards, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, April 21st. Bozukluian was named the NE10 Field Athlete of the Week, and Henchcliffe was named NE10 Track Athlete of the Week.

At the UConn Northeast Challenge, Bozukluian placed second in the Hammer Throw with a personal best mark of 53.47m. That throw ranks first in the NE10 and 28th in all of NCAA Division II, meeting the NCAA provisional mark. It is the second straight week Bozukluian has recorded a PR, with her new best throw ranking sixth in program history. This is Bozukluian's first time receiving weekly honors this season.

Henchcliffe also PR'd for the second straight week at the highly competitive Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific, placing 10th in the 5000m with a time of 17:04.82. That time broke the SCSU outdoor program record, and ranks first in the NE10 this season. It is the second-straight weekly honor for Henchcliffe, who picks up her third Track Athlete of the Week recognition overall.

Bozukluian, Henchcliffe, and the Owls will compete in the final meet of the regular season this weekend at Central Connecticut's Blue Devil Invitational.
