SCSU Men’s Track and Field Sits in First After Day 1 of NE10 Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut men's outdoor track and field leads the field after Day 1 of the 2026 Northeast 10 Outdoor Track & Field championships. The Owls scored 118 points, ahead of Franklin Pierce at 64 and Assumption at 41.

The Owls dominated in day one, taking home eight gold medals. Jonathan Volpe broke the NE10 Championship record to win the 1500m, continuing his excellent final season. Will Lamburn took home the 10k in an exciting finish, and the Southern swept Friday's field events, with Aidan Chittenden (Hammer Throw), Lawrence Hicks (High Jump), Trevor Dixon (Javelin), Ty Phelan (Long Jump), and Peyton Adams (Pole Vault) all winning golds.
