NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut men's track and field standouts Osaretin Osagie and Malachy Murray were named to the 2026 NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by the NE10 on Thursday, June 18, 2026. This is the first NE10 Academic All-Conference Team honor for Murray and it is the fourth time that Osagie has earned NE10 Academic All-Conference Team honors, after he earned the honor, twice, in 2024 and in 2025 for the outdoor season. 

Malachy Murray had an impressive season for the Owls, on and off the track. Murray earned NE10 Academic Honors, for both the Fall 2025 semester and the Spring 2026 semester. On the track, he consistently made strong finishes in the 400. At the NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Murray finished in 10th in the 400 prelims and recorded a personal-best time of 49.03. He also competed in the 400 at the 2026 New England Championships and helped the Owls finish second at the New England Championship.

Osaretin Osagie had another remarkable season for Southern Connecticut, on and off the track. Osagie earned NE10 Academic Distinction for both the Fall 2025 semester and the Spring 2026 semester. He recorded five gold medals across the NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship and the New England Championship. Osagie was named the NE10 Most Outstanding Track Performer for his impressive performance in the 400 meter hurdles, in which he broke the meet record, the SCSU Program Record and ranked in the top 10 of NCAA DII. He qualified for the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships, for the third straight season, where he finished 15th in 400 meter hurdles and earned All-America Second Team honors.
