Bridgeport, Conn.—Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer opened the 2026 season with a draw at the University of Bridgeport. With the draw, the Owls move to 0-0-1 overall and the Purple Knights move to 0-0-1.

The match was tight the entire way, with both teams getting chances but neither able to pull through.

Makenzi Pastrick pitched a shutout in net for the Owls, picking up one save.

Offensively for the Owls, Frida Norret led the way with three shots, two of which were on goal.

Southern Connecticut is back in action on Tuesday Sept. 1 when they host Post University for their home opener in a non-conference match up at 7 PM at Jess Dow Field.
