Alessandro Bacabac Named NE10 Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Alessandro Bacabac was named the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week as announced by the Northeast 10 Conference on Monday, August 31, 2026. This is Bacabac's first NE10 Rookie of the Week selection of his career.

In his first week for the Owls, Bacabac started in both games of the 2026 season and recorded five shots and two goals, both goals in Sunday's match-up against the University of Bridgeport.

Bacabac is a freshman in his first year at Southern Connecticut State University. The midfielder, from Somers, CT, played scholastically at Somers High School, made MLS Next Playoffs First Round, was named to the Philippines U20 National Team pool, played for New England Revolution and Met Oval Academy, and competed internationally in Germany, Turkey, and Sweden.
 
SCSU Men's Soccer is back-in-action on Saturday. September 5, at James Moore Fieldhouse at 1:00 PM. The Owls enter the game 0-1-1, with the Golden Falcons sitting 1-1-0.
