ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (AP) — Southern Connecticut women's soccer fell 1-0 to Molloy on Tuesday night at John A. Darcy Field. The Owls' record stands at 5-2-2, and the Lions advance to 4-6-1.
Southern (5-2-2) allowed a goal in the 12th minute and was unable to find an equalizer despite outshooting Molloy 9-5.
The Lions scored in the 12th minute when Jana Strait found the back of the net, assisted by Ysabelle Perillo.
Elizabeth Bishop led Southern with two shots on goal. Jamie Greenman had two shots. Gracie Sanders, Saga Möttönen, Olivia Morrissette, Maya Tellier and Julia Hargraves each added one shot.
Makenzi Pastreck played 90 minutes in goal and made two saves, allowing one goal.
Southern committed seven fouls. Maya Tellier was shown a yellow card in the 68th minute and Isabella LaPerle in the 89th.
The Owls are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 3rd at 4PM at Jess Dow Field facing off against Southern New Hampshire University.
