MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Lexi Sarradet pitched a complete game no-hitter to blank the Southern Connecticut State University softball team on Friday afternoon from Buccaneer Field at Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla. by a score of 10-0. With the loss, the Owls fell to 3-2, while the Sharks from Nova Southeastern improved to 22-10.
Three Sharks drove in two runs to pace the offensive onslaught. Nova Southeastern only hit one double to go along with its 12 base hits, but the Sharks also capitalized on five Southern Connecticut errors.
Sarradet (11-3) walked two and struck out three in her five inning no-hit outing. Junior
Amanda Pindar (New Britain, Conn.) (1-1) surrendered nine hits and seven runs (three earned) in the loss. She was relieved by sophomore Nicole Marcelynas (Watertown, Conn.), who gave up four hits and three runs (two earned) in the final two innings of the contest.
The Southern Connecticut softball team is back in action tomorrow. The Owls challenge host Barry University at 12 p.m. and will square off with Nova Southeastern again at 6 p.m.
