LANTANA, Fla. -- Sophomore starting pitcher Jim Fuller (Marlborough, Mass.) pitched seven innings without allowing an earned run and struck out nine and junior center fielder Karl Derbacher (Northford, Conn.) went 4-for-4 on Sunday, but the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team was swept in a neutral-site, non-conference doubleheader by Dowling at Santaluces Complex. The Owls dropped the first game, 2-1, and were also edged, 6-5, in the nightcap. With the losses, SCSU falls to 9-6 while Dowling improves to 8-3. Details and boxscores to follow.
