Berry's Heroics Send No. 10 Field Hockey Squad Past Assumption In Overtime, 2-1

Ann Berry scored the game-tying and game-winning goals against Assumption.
Sophomore captain Ann Berry (Belfast, Maine) scored the game-tying and game-winning markers as the No. 10 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to claim a 2-1 overtime win over Assumption on Tuesday evening in Worcester, Mass.

The Owls improved to 4-3, 4-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play with the win.

After Assumption scored the only goal of the opening half, the Owls broke through with an unassisted goal from Berry exactly 11 minutes into the second frame.

The score remained that way until early in the overtime, when Berry capitalized off an unassisted score just 4:17 into extra time.

The Owls return to action on Thursday night at 7 p.m. when they host Bentley at Jess Dow Field.
