WORCESTER, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut State University football team tallied a season-high 45 points and nearly 500 yards of total offense en route to its third straight win on Saturday, a 45-13 triumph over Assumption College. 
The Owls are now 3-2, 3-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Assumption is 2-2, 1-1. 
Both offenses struggled to find the end zone early on. The Owls took the opening kickoff and put together a 13 play, 56-yard drive. However, the series stalled inside the red zone and the Owls settled for a 23-yard field goal from 
Christopher Hazelton (Bristol, Conn.). 
Assumption scored the next six points – those coming on a pair of field goals – to take a 6-3 lead just 39 seconds in the second quarter. 
From there, Southern Connecticut took control of the game by scoring the next 21 points of the contest. 
The Owls went in front for good courtesy of a 10-yard touchdown run from 
Rashaad Slowley (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) later in the second quarter. His score put a close to a six play, 60-yard drive. 
Southern Connecticut scored two touchdowns in just 26 seconds later in the frame to pull away. 
Jarom Freeman (Peekskill, N.Y.) found the end zone from six yards out at the end of a six play, 64-yard drive. 
Assumption took the ball and looked to close the gap. However, 
Michael Campbell (Newington, Conn.) picked off a Greyhounds pass at the Assumption 44. On the next play 
Chris Roberts (New Britain, Conn.) found 
Andre Privott (Middletown, Conn.) on a 44-yard touchdown strike to make it 24-6 at halftime. 
The hosts climbed to within 24-13 late in the third quarter, but the Owls struck back quickly. This time, Roberts found 
Brian Tourtelott (Latham, N.Y.) on a deflected pass that skimmed off the foot off an Assumption defender. 
Southern Connecticut added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter, with those coming on one yard runs from 
John Wiechman (Buxton, Maine) and 
Patrick Collins (Manchester, Conn.). 
Freeman led the Owls on the ground with 113 yards on 21 carries. Roberts finished 16-of-23 for 238 yards and two touchdown tosses. Privott and 
Pete DiGangi (Cheshire, Conn.) paced the receivers with four catches each. 
The Owls are back in action on Friday night when they host New Haven at 7 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
