LYNDHURST, N.J. - The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team defeated non-conference opponent Felician on Thursday night by the score of 5-2.
Steve Simon (Middlefield, Conn.) claimed his fifth victory for the Owls as he improved to 5-0 as a starter. He threw seven innings, allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and struck out 11. Southern is now 15-5-1 overall and remain 8-1 in the Northeast-10. Felician is 15-15 overall with the loss.
The Owls scored three runs in the top of the seventh to pull ahead. Offensively,
A.J. Rouleau (Westborough, Mass.) led the squad as he went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI.
Eric Schlitter (Guilford, Conn.) and
Bryan Dorsey (Cheshire, Conn.) each added a hit and a RBI.
Kyle Penney (Columbia, Conn.) entered the game in the eighth, allowed just one hit in two innings and struck out two batters.
The Owls return to action on Friday, April 2 as they host AIC at 3:30 p.m.
