NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team used a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 victory over Assumption on Tuesday afternoon at The Ballpark at Southern Connecticut. The Owls improved to 18-6-1 overall and 11-2 in the Northeast-10 Conference with the win.
Kyle Rosadino (Berwyn, Pa.) started the decisive surge with a double to center field.
Ryan Geffert (Plymouth, Pa.) followed with a single through the right side that plated Rosadino and cut the Greyhounds lead in half.

Bryan Dorsey (Cheshire, Conn.) to even the game.

Nick DeProspo (Worcester, Mass.) moved pinch runner
Matt Pessy (Greenwich, Conn.) to third base with out. The next batter,
Eric Schlitter (Guilford, Conn.) slapped a chopper up the middle that Pessy easily beat home with the winning run.
Steve Simon (Middlefield, Conn.) improved to 6-0 with a complete game effort. He scattered eight hits and allowed just two fifth inning runs that allowed Assumption (16-9, 4-4 NE-10) to carry a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the ninth.
Southern Connecticut is back in action tomorrow for a 3:30 p.m. non-league game against Bridgeport.
