No. 15 Nationally Ranked Baseball Defeats Bloomfield

BOCA RATON, Fla. –The No. 15 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University baseball team improved to 9-0 on the season by defeating Bloomfield College today, 5-1. Freshman #A.J. Turnier# (Waterford, Conn.) got the win in his first career start going seven innings and giving up one run on five hits and striking out five. Michael Johnston (Thomaston, Conn.) picked up his third save on the season going one inning and fanning two of the three batters he faced.

The offense was led by Kyle Cummings (Hamden, Conn.), who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Freshman #T.J. Shea# (Hamden, Conn.) helped the Owls going 1-for-3 with two RBI. Outfielder Kyle Rosadino (Berwyn, Pa.) also pitched in going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The Owls will be back in action tomorrow when they face Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Boca Raton, Fla. The game time has been moved up to 10 a.m.
