ALBANY, N.Y. – The No. 5 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University baseball team defeated the College of Saint Rose 8-4 to claim their 20th straight win on the season. Junior left-hander
Chris Zbin allowed a run on six hits and fanned six throughout 7.0 innings of work to run his record to 5-0 on the year.
Sean Leahy (Maybrook, N.Y) and Micheal Johnston (Thomaston, Conn.) pitched the eighth, and ninth respectively. Leahy gave up three runs on two hits while Johnston gave up no runs on one hit and fanned one.
Offensively, senior left fielder
Kyle Rosadino went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a triple to lead a balanced Owls attack that featured five players with at least two hits on the day.
Kyle Cummings (Hamden, Conn.), Ryan Geffet (Plymouth, Pa.),
Bryan Dorsey (Chesire, Conn.), and #T.J. Shea# (Hamden, Conn.) where the other four players to have at least two hits in the game. Shea also collected two RBI to go along with his two hits as well as Geffert and
Nick DeProspo (Worcester, Mass.) each collecting one RBI apiece.
The Owls improved to 20-0, and 5-0 in Northeast-10 play. They will travel to Springfield March 30 to play AIC at 3:30 p.m.
