WINDING DOWN AT HOME
The Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team will play its final two home games of the regular season this week. The Owls entertain No. 1 nationally ranked Adelphi on Wednesday at 4 p.m. before closing the home slate against Saint Anselm on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Prior to the start of Saturday's game, the Owls will recognize their two seniors -
Lauren Horner and
Jessica Kraszewski.

Elaina Heiple leads the club with 20 points (17 goals, three assists) so far this year.
SHAW NOT FAR BEHIND
Sophomore
Jessica Shaw ranks second on the team with 16 points and is also second with 16 goals on the season.
FARING WELL IN THE NET
Sophomore
Lynette Martinez was called into action as the Owls' goalie earlier in the month and responded with two strong outings. She tallied 13 saves against Assumption and followed that up with 15 stops against Franklin Pierce.
SCORING IN BUNCHES
Elaina Heiple netted four goals against New Haven and
Jessica Shaw followed that up with a four-goal effort against St. Michael's.
MERKED NETS NO. 1
Freshman
Alexandria Merked scored her first goal as an Owl last time out against Franklin Pierce.
RYAN PACING THE DEFENSE
Graduate student
Marissa Ryan leads the club in groundballs, draw controls and caused turnovers this season.
TRIPLE THREAT
Freshman
Erica Martino netted a goal in three straight games for the Owls. She scored her first goal as an Owl against Stonehill and followed that up with single goals against New Haven and St. Michael's.

Jessica Shaw registered a hat trick in the game against Southern New Hampshire.

Sarah Clark netted a hat trick in her collegiate debut against Mercy on March 10.

The Owls were selected 13th in the Northeast-10 preseason poll as voted on by the league's coaches.

Four of the top six scorers from a year ago are returning for the Owls this spring.

Elaina Heiple and Liz Dishian - all registered double digits in points during the 2010 season.
TWO OWLS EARN IWLCA RECOGNITION
Lauren Karn and
Marissa Ryan were both selected to the IWLCA All-Academic squad for their efforts in the classroom during the 2009-10 academic year. It was the second straight year that the duo was honored by the IWLCA.
TRIO HONORED BY DIVISION II ATHLETIC DIRECTORS
Lauren Karn,
Marissa Ryan and
Elaina Heiple were all recognized by the Division II Athletic Directors Association with their Academic Achievement Award for their efforts in the classroom during the 2009-10 academic year. In order to qualify for the award, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5.
SHAW PACED THE ROOKIES
Jessica Shaw led all freshmen with 19 points on the year (15 goals, four assists) in 2010.

The Owls close the regular season on April 29 at Bentley.
