NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Southern Connecticut women's lacrosse was ranked 25th in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Weekly Poll, as announced by the IWLCA on Monday, April 20, 2026. This was the first time that the Owls have been ranked nationally, in program history. The IWLCA Weekly Poll consists of 25 teams that are represented in the poll, with voters—college coaches from across the nation—reflecting the latest results across women's lacrosse. The rankings are based on weekly performances, with the poll set to be released each Monday throughout the season.
The Owls have continued to have an impressive, historic season, so far. Southern started with the best start in program history, with a 9-1 record. Then, the Owls broke their program record of wins in a single season, with their 11
th and 12th victories. Additionally, in the past week, they defeated Bentley and Saint Anselm, for the first time in program history. In the NE10, Southern owns the best overall record, at 12-3. On Saturday, April 25, as the third seed, the Owls will host their first NE10 Championship game, in program history, at Jess Dow Field.
Nationally, the Owls are ranked 15
th in all of Division II in scoring margin with an average of 6.50 goals, ranked 16
th in scoring offense with an average of 15.36 goals per game and ranked 19
th in scoring defense with an average of 8.86 goals per game. Individually,
Caelan Connors is ranked 12
th in all of Division II, in save percentage with 48%.
In the NE10,
Caelan Connors leads the conference in saves percentage and is ranked second in goals against average, with 9.76 goals allowed per game.
Macy Vail is ranked 10
th in the NE10 in goals per game, with an average of 2.53 goals per game and is ranked 12
th in points per game with an average of 3.53 points per game.
Maddox Burton is ranked eighth in assists per game, with an average of 1.47 assists per contest.
Anna Meserve is ranked 10
th in draws per game, with an average of 3.47 draws per game.
Allie Welder is ranked 15
th in draws per game, with an average of 2.87 draws per game. Welder is ranked 12
th in caused turnovers per game, with an average of 1.33 caused turnovers per game.
The Owls will return to action against #12 Adelphi on Tuesday, April 21 at 5:00 pm in an NE10 matchup in Garden City, New York.
