No. 6 Nationally Ranked Baseball Shut Out by Adelphi, 4-0

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The No. 6 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University baseball team was defeated today, 4-0, by Adelphi. Steve Landell (Higganum, Conn.) pitched for the Owls giving up two runs on seven hits and striking out three batters through six innings of work. A.J. Turnier (Waterford, Conn.) relieved Landell in the sixth and went the final three innings giving up an additional two runs on three hits and fanning two batters.

Offensively, the bats were only able to produce four hits. Kyle Rosadino (Berwyn, Pa.) led the charge going 2-for-4. Middle infielders Sam Greenberg (Guilford, Conn.) and T.K. Kiernan (Wallingford, Conn.) accounted for the other two hits, both doubles.

The Owls move to 28-4 on the season and 13-4 in Northeast-10 action. Adelphi improves to 22-10, 11-5 in Northeast-10 action. 

Southern will return home tomorrow to play Adelphi at 3:30 p.m.
