Downs added a single to center field to score Bucko and the flood gates began to open. Rosa helped herself with an infield single to move the runners over and Bonneville singled up the middle to plate Whitley. Pinch runner for Rosa,
Julie Muscarella (Suffield, Conn.) scored on a wild pitch and to cap off the game, Bucko singled down the right field line to score the game winning run.
In the second game,
Brittany Hill (Durham, Conn.) pitched well giving up just four runs over seven and pitching her way out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the third. The Owls looked poised to mount another come from behind victory when Hill struck out three batters in the top half of the seventh. The Owls scattered five hits, two of them coming off the bat of Whitley.
