No. 13 Nationally Ranked Baseball Takes Two from SNHU

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The No. 13 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University Owls defeated Southern New Hampshire today 1-0 and 3-0 in a double-header. In game one, the Owls were able to put up one run in the bottom of the ninth with two out with a single up the middle by T.J. Shea (Hamden, Conn.). Kevin Pettine started for Southern, going nine innings and giving up no runs on six hits and striking out eight batters. In game two, the Owls got the offense going early scoring three runs in the third on an error by the catcher and an two RBI singles from Nick DeProspo (Worcester, Mass.), and A.J. Rouleau (Westborough, Mass.).

In game one, the offense was powered by DeProspo and Kyle Rosadino (Berwyn, Pa.) who both collected two hits. T.J. Shea collected the lone RBI in the game.

In game two, Chris Zbin (Colchester, Conn.) started for Southern and gave up one hit, walked two and struck out 10 through nine innings of work. The offense was powered by Kyle Cummings (Hamden, Conn.) and Rouleau who both collected two hits a piece in the game. Rouleau and DeProspo picked up the only two RBI in the game.

The Owls improve to 33-4-1, 17-4-1 in Northeast-10 play. Their next game will be Tuesday, when they face Pace at 3:30 p.m.
