The Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team prepares for two home Northeast-10 Conference games this week. The Owls entertain Assumption on Wednesday at 4 p.m. and Franklin Pierce on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Elaina Heiple netted four goals against New Haven last Tuesday and
Jessica Shaw followed that up with a four-goal effort against St. Michael's on Saturday.
TRIPLE THREAT
Freshman
Erica Martino has netted a goal in three straight games for the Owls. She scored her first goal as an Owl against Stonehill and followed that up with single goals against New Haven and St. Michael's.

Emily Horan scored her first goal as an Owl last time out against St. Michael's.

The Owls were selected 13th in the Northeast-10 preseason poll as voted on by the league's coaches.

TWO OWLS EARN IWLCA RECOGNITION
Lauren Karn and
Marissa Ryan were both selected to the IWLCA All-Academic squad for their efforts in the classroom during the 2009-10 academic year. It was the second straight year that the duo was honored by the IWLCA.
TRIO HONORED BY DIVISION II ATHLETIC DIRECTORS
Lauren Karn,
Marissa Ryan and
Elaina Heiple were all recognized by the Division II Athletic Directors Association with their Academic Achievement Award for their efforts in the classroom during the 2009-10 academic year. In order to qualify for the award, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5.
SHAW PACED THE ROOKIES
Jessica Shaw led all freshmen with 19 points on the year (15 goals, four assists) in 2010.

The Owls are back in action on April 12 with a road game against LeMoyne.
