Box Score
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - Junior third baseman A.J. Rouleau (Westborough, Mass.) drove in Nick DeProspo (Worcester, Mass.) with the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the No. 8 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University baseball team a 4-3 win over UMass-Lowell on Friday afternoon. The Owls put up three runs through the first seven innings from an RBI groundout from DeProspo in the third and an RBI double by Ryan Geffert (Plymouth, Pa) who later came around to score in the seventh inning. The River Hawks rallied from a 3-0 deficit to force extra frames, but Rouleau's single allowed the Owls to move on to face Adelphi in a winners' bracket game on Saturday. SCSU (38-4-1) also matched the program's single-season record for victories in the process.

Michael Johnston (Thomaston, Conn.) pitched the final two and two-thirds innings to earn the win and move to 2-1 on the year. Kevin Pettine (Somerset, Mass.) started for the Owls and was awarded the no decision. Pettine went seven and one-thirds innings, giving up two runs, on seven hits and struck out six batters.

Kyle Rosadino (Berwyn, Pa.) and Ryan Geffert each had two hits for the Owls.

The Owls will play second-seeded Adelphi tomorrow at noon.
