Offensive Outburst Powers No. 25 Nationally Ranked Baseball Past Post University, 24-7

WATERBURY, Conn. – Bryan Dorsey's (Cheshire, Conn.) six-RBI day powers the No. 25 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University baseball team past Post University today, 24-7. The Owls offense started fast putting up four runs in the top of the first and an additional seven runs in the top of the second to take an early 11-0 lead. SCSU added another three runs in the third and fourth innings combined. Post started to battle back in the bottom of the fourth with six runs to cut the score to 14-6. The Owl offense showed no signs of slowing down with four runs in the fifth and five runs in the fifth to make it a 23-6 game. The seventh and eighth innings were the only innings the Owls did not put runs up on the board. The Eagles got one run back in the seventh but had no shot of coming back. The Owls added one more run in the ninth to make it a 24-7 game. Dorsey, Ryan Geffert (Plymouth, Pa.), Peter Testa (Orange, Conn.) and Greg Pacelli (Hamden, Conn.) all homered for the Owls. Pacelli recorded four RBI with his grand slam in the sixth inning. Testa also recorded four RBI in the game. Kyle Cummings went 4-for-6 at the plate with two RBI and four runs scored. Geffert tallied at team-high five runs scored to go along with two hits and two RBI. Sam Greenberg (Guilford, Conn.), Geffert, Dorsey, Testa, and Nick Baviello (Orange, Conn.) all recorded two hits a piece.

Rocco Cunadri (Norwalk, Conn.) recorded with win going the first six innings of the game. Cundari allowed six runs, on six hits and fanned five batters. Daniel Murdoch (Newtown, Conn.) gave up one run, on one hit in two innings of work. Tyler Repoli (Andover, Conn.) threw a hitless one inning of work.

The Owls move to 20-10 on the season. They will be back in action tomorrow, when they travel to play cross-town rival University of New Haven. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
