EASTON, Mass. – Junior Vaughn Magee (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) finished with a career-high 151 yards on 31 carries, but the Southern Connecticut State University football team lost a 13-0 decision to Stonehill on Saturday afternoon in the Northeast-10 Conference opener for both teams.

Stonehill improved to 1-1, 1-0 with the win. SCSU is now 0-2, 0-1 in league play.

The hosts held just a 3-0 lead going into the final quarter, but the Skyhawks scored 10 fourth quarter points to secure the win.

The first points came courtesy of a 5-yard touchdown pass early in the frame.

Grzywacz added a 25-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.

The only scoring of the first half came on a 37-yard field goal from Steve Grzywacz with just three seconds to go in the stanza.



Southern Connecticut is back in action on Sept. 15 for a home game against St. Augustine's at Jess Dow Field. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
