BOSTON, Mass. – Junior
Dieter Gutbrod (Sandy Hook, Conn.) led the Southern Connecticut State University men's cross country team with a 98th individual performance at the New England Championship Saturday afternoon.
Southern Connecticut finished 33rd out of 39 teams with five competitors participating.
Gutbrod finished the 8k with a time of 25:45.10, while senior
Tom Saksa (Seymour, Conn.) finished in 178th place with a time of 26:39.89. Sophomore
Dean Bhatt (Hamden, Conn.) and junior
Samuel Parton (Fairfield, Conn.) finished in 208th and 22st place, respectively.
Senior
Michael Vagnini (Woodbury, Conn.) and freshman Stephen Cugni (Woodbury, Conn.) were among the other Owls who competed today.
The Owls are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 18 when they'll travel to Harkness Park, Conn. to participate in the Connecticut College Invitational. The meet is scheduled for 12 p.m.
