Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team scored four runs in its final three at bats to defeat AIC, 4-1. It was the Owls' second come from behind victory at AIC in as many days.
Matt Burns (Cheshire, Conn.) and
Nick Baviello (Orange, Conn.) recorded back-to-back run scoring singles as Southern Connecticut took the lead in its two-run eighth inning. The duo combined to go 5-for-8 with two runs scored on the afternoon.
Tyler Albrecht (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) garnered his third victory of the season, allowing only one run on four hits in seven innings. The Owls' co-captain struck out seven.
Rocco Cundari (Norwalk, Conn.) and
Mike Yerina (Trumbull, Conn.) combined for the final two innings to seal the Northeast-10 Conference win. Cundari earned the save, striking out three in 1.1 innings.
SCSU, now 14-10-1, hosts New Haven on Tuesday afternoon.
