RINDGE, N.H. – Dieter Gutbrod (Sandy Hook, Conn.) finished eighth overall to lead the Southern Connecticut State University men's cross country team to a fifth-place team mark at the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup earlier today.

Gutbrod finished the course in a time of 21:33.

Tom Saksa (Seymour, Conn.) placed 23rd with a time of 22:36. Michael Vagnini (Woodbury, Conn.) and Steve Cugini (Milford, Conn.) finished 51st and 52nd, respectively, with times of 23:40 and 23:42. Seth Shuster (Shelton, Conn.) was 81st in 26:09.

The Owls return to action on Sept. 27 at the Ted Owen Invitational at CCSU.
