Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Adelphi University baseball team scored four runs over the final two innings to rally from a 1-0 deficit and capture a 4-1 win over Southern Connecticut State University in Northeast-10 Conference action today.
The Owls are now 17-19 and 8-10 in NE-10 Southwest Division play, while Adelphi is 15-17 and 8-7.
Southern struck for its only run in the third inning.
Greg Zullo (Branford, Conn.) doubled to lead off the inning.
Matt Burns (Cheshire, Conn.) followed with a walk before
Jake Lieberman (Commack, N.Y.) reached out a bunt single to load the bases.
Nick Baviello (Orange, Conn.) followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Zullo.
Owls' southpaw
Pat Egan (Aberdeen, N.J.) went the first seven innings and fanned five in a scoreless effort. He turned it over to the bullpen in the eighth, and the Panthers were able to take the lead with a pair of runs in that frame. They tacked on two more in the ninth to make it a 4-1 final.
SCSU is back in action on Thursday for a home game against Post.
