WORCESTER, Mass. - The Southern Connecticut State University football team lost to No. 17 nationally ranked Assumption College this evening, 35-13, in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup.

TEAM RECORDS: SCSU 1-2 (1-1 NE-10) | Assumption 3-0 (2-0 NE-10)

A QUICK START: Assumption jumped out to a 28-0 lead after the first quarter. Three scores were touchdown passes from Marc Monks to Ashton Grant, the fourth a two-yard run from Dylan Oxsen.

ON THE BOARD: Southern assembled a 17-play, 75-yard drive late in the first half to cut the gap to 28-6. Robert Nittolo (Hillsborough, N.J.) capped the drive with a four-yard touchdown run. Assumption held the 22-point lead into the locker room, and the score stayed that way into the fourth quarter.

THE FINAL FRAME: Oxsen's second touchdown run of the night early in the fourth frame made it 35-6. SCSU closed out the scoring on a 34-yard touchdown pass from Nittolo to Kendall Thomas (St. Albans, N.Y.).
