Devante Jenkins (Carson, Calif.) hauled in eight catches for 115 yards as the Southern Connecticut State University football team dropped its season opener at Gannon today, 31-9.

Nittolo completed 20-of-44 passes on the day.
Earl Myers (Uniondale, N.Y.) had career highs of five catches and 90 yards.
Ahmed Hourani (Fairfield, Conn.) had a sack and a career high 13 tackles, the latter stat which was also matched by
Michael Cerisano (Newburgh, N.Y.).

THE TIDE TURNED: Gannon scored the next 21 points to build a 21-6 lead.
Mike McNally (Cromwell, Conn.) added a 27-yard field goal on the final play of the first half to cut the gap to 21-9 at the break.
THE SECOND HALF: Southern's offense moved the ball into Gannon territory on numerous occasions - including multiple trips to the red zone. The hosts scored the final 10 points of the game to make it a 31-9 final.
