Southern Connecticut State University football quarterback Brandon Jorgensen was named the Northeast 10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, Oct. 26, 2026. It is Jorgensen's first career weekly honor.
Jorgensen completed 20 of 31 passes for 317 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Southern's 32-29 loss at Bentley Stadium. The 317 yards and four scores both topped his previous career bests and marked Southern's first 300-yard passing game this season.
Jorgensen did most of his damage with junior receiver Seth Westover, who also had a career day. Westover caught seven passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns — a career high in yards and his second career two-touchdown game. Southern trailed 7-0 before Jorgensen and Westover connected for a 66-yard touchdown with 14:18 left in the second quarter to tie it. It was the longest play of the day. He also found Isaac Lynch and Andres Perez for touchdowns, while also hooking up with Perez on a two-point conversion that tied the game in the closing minutes.
Despite the loss, Jorgensen averaged 10.2 yards per attempt and his four touchdowns went to three different receivers. For the year, Jorgensen is 103-for-164 (63.4%) for 1,384 yards with 12 touchdowns against one interception.
Southern, now 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the NE10, returns home to host Franklin Pierce on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
