BACK IN ACTION
The Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team looks to rebound from a loss to No. 20 nationally ranked Stonehill over the weekend with two NE10 home matchups this week. The Owls are back in action to host No. 1 nationally ranked Adelphi on Wednesday before Saint Anselm visits at noon on Saturday.

ALL-TIME VS. ADELPHI
Adelphi leads the all-time series, 12-0, over the Owls.

ALL-TIME VS. SAINT ANSELM
The Hawks lead the Owls in the all-time series, 15-0.

LAST TIME OUT 
The Owls fell to No. 20 nationally ranked Stonehill 15-5 in NE10 action. Nicole Healey registered three points (two goals, one assist) for the Owls. Emily Johnson, Kennedy Sherman and Taylor Portelinha also scored for the Owls.

JOHNSON HEATING UP
Emily Johnson had five points (four goals, one assist) to lead the Owls in their games against Mercy and Stonehill.

KEAL CLOSING IN
Carolynn Keal stands just five points away of joining the 100-point club for her career. She has 65 goals and 30 assists coming into this week.

HEALEY EARNS THIRD NE10 WEEKLY HONOR
Junior Nicole Healey of the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll for the third week in a row on March 20. She was honored for her play in the Owls' win at Merrimack. Healey powered the Owls to a 10-9 win at Merrimack with a career-best six goals – including the game-winning tally with 3:11 left. She also registered a team-best six draw controls in the victory.

A FIRST 2-0 START
The Owls jumped out of the gates to a 2-0 start for the first time in program history.

HEALEY JOINS THE 100 POINT CLUB 
Nicole Healey became the fifth Owl to join the 100 point club after a six-point performance in a win against Bridgeport, where she registered five goals and one assist. 

BIG DAY FOR COZZOLINO
For the second time in her collegiate career, Samantha Cozzolino had four goals and five points in a game in the win over STAC. She also tallied the same stat line in a win over Post last year.

COZZOLINO NAMED TO NE10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Sophomore Samantha Cozzolino of the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll for her play in the Owls' season opening win over St. Thomas Aquinas.
• Cozzolino matched her single-game career-highs with four goals and five points to lead the Owls to a 14-6 win season opening win against St. Thomas Aquinas. She also registered two caused turnovers and a groundball in the contest.

IN SEASON OPENERS
The Owls now hold a 3-13 record in season openers, including wins over Merrimack in 2016 and St. Thomas Aquinas this year.

GOOD GROUP BACK
Southern Connecticut has 15 student-athletes returning from last year's team.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
The Owls welcome eight newcomers to the team for the 2017 season - Morgan Hanks, Emily Johnson, Sarah Meza, Jacey Miller, Bridget Morgan, Amanda Murray, Emily Rossini and Kendall Simmons.

THE CAPTAINS
Seniors Lindsey Luposello and Olivia Murray and junior Carolynn Keal will serve as team captains for the 2017 season. 

IN THE NORTHEAST-10 PRESEASON POLL
Southern Connecticut was selected 13th in the Northeast-10 Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the league's coaches.

TWO NAMED TO NE10 ALL-ROOKIE TEAM
Samantha Cozzolino and Brianna Grande were both named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team at the conclusion of the 2016 season. Cozzolino led all SCSU rookies in goals (26), assists (3), points (29) and draw controls (38) last year. Grande registered 21 caused turnovers, which was the fifth-best single-season total in school history. She finished second on the team in that department and also was second on the team – and tops among newcomers – with 35 groundballs. She also ranked among the league leaders in caused turnovers.

PAIR NAMED TO IWLCA ZAG SPORTS DIVISION II ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL
Lindsey Luposello and Alexa Picciuto were selected to the IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll. In order to receive this honor, student-athletes must have achieved at least a minimum GPA of 3.5 and maintained at least junior academic standing.

PLENTY OF FIREPOWER COMING BACK
The Owls return their top three scorers from a year ago - Nicole Healey (56 points), Carolynn Keal (40 points) and Samantha Cozzolino (29 points). In all, SCSU has 81-percent of its scoring from a year ago coming back in 2017.

KEEPING TABS ON THE ALL-TIME RECORD BOOK
Several active Owls are ranked among the program's all-time leaders.
•  Carolynn Keal -  1st in assists (30), second in caused turnovers (63)
Nicole Healey - 3rd in assists (24), fourth in goals (93) and third in points (117)
Kennedy Sherman - 2nd in assists (29)
Lindsey Luposello - 8th in groundballs (112)
