TEAM RECORDS: So. Connecticut (17-7-1, 5-0) | Adelphi (16-13, 1-5)

After a pair of walks in the first inning, the Owls jumped on the board off of DeMartino's first hit of the day.

The Panthers countered in the second inning scoring one run off an RBI single to right center, 1-1. The next run wouldn't come until the bottom of the fourth inning when Ryan
Kaplan hit an RBI single, which scored DeMartino, 2-1.

The Panthers struck back in the top of the fifth inning, where they plated the tying run off an RBI single, 2-2.

SCSU came out hot in the bottom of the fifth. Griffin Garabedian (Hamden, Conn.) singled to begin the inning. Garabedian took second after a wild pitch was thrown. Jim Palmer (Milford, Conn.) reached first on an error by the third baseman, which advanced Garabedian to third. After Nick Lamberti (East Haven, Conn.) was hit by a pitch, Tyler Criscuolo (Branford, Conn.) and Greg Zullo (Branford, Conn.) earned two RBI off walks. Lamberti scored on a tag up, 5-2.

Adelphi attempted to rally back in the sixth inning, where they scored two runs, but SCSU was able to hold their one run lead, 5-4.

Palmer's defensive prowess kept the Owls lead in the top of the seventh inning. His web gem on a diving stab turned into a double play, as he lunged to tag out the Panthers base runner. In the next play, he kept his golden glove streak going, pocketing a line drive for the third out.
After stellar pitching from the Owls bullpen, Santamaria pitched a 1-2-3 inning securing the victory.

ON DECK: The Owls will travel to LeMoyne for a series of games beginning on April 14 for a single game at 3:30 p.m. and then will face them April 15 for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
